Windows Live Error Opening Message

Conclusion: Windows Live Mail itself was not broken, the mail database was not broken, but the .NET 2.0 framework (or parts of it) were corrupt. Greatful ffor advice on how to cure this irritaating litle problem. Go to uninstall software and select uninstall for Windows Live Essetials 2011.
- Googling for error 0x80131018 didn't give me a very clear idea of the problem, but I did see some posts about failing to load .NET assemblies and NGEN.

- I have also scrupously removed all trace of Kaspersky I used last year, and I only use the Windows firewall in addition to AVG.

I've exported all my accounts and emails - do I need to delete WLM and reinstall, or is there possibly an easier way to get this working again? The tool is Fuslogvw.exe, so I fired it up, and chose some path to log into and pick some detailed level of logging. Did it for me. Even AVG Free has been better. Live Mail works very well except for an error message 'A problem occurred while trying to open this mail. You could point out that it is not necessary to resend all messages - just fixing the bad message as noted in the error message is all that it takes - thanks for sharing... You might also try booting into safe mode, try WLM again and see if you get the same error. Although I can open my emails I can not send any. After the initial 26 self-installed, the problem you describe started. Let me know if that works.
