Many posts here at TSG by well informed folks from which I have gained insight. When I suggested making a backup image I didn't mean a factory restore to get back to the out of the box state. You mentioned SpyBot Search & Destroy - bit dated possibly but if you use the immunize feature on this from time to time then you probably don't really need SpywareBlaster as check over here Also at startup I don't have that dialog box with System event notification so everything seems fine.
